here's a peek at my very first silver piece - a ring!! i've been working with brass, nickel and copper but i took the leap and bought a sheet of silver, took a deep breath and began. to. saw. (!)
it still needs some sanding and polishing but i brought all the techniques i've been learning ie design, sawing, annealing, hammering, fitting, solder, sanding, polishing and texturing, (which you can faintly see) - all in today's class- next week we're making a bezel for a stone, which will be soldered onto this ring - i need to buy a stone yet, i haven't decided what kind but i think i want an oval shape - a trip to Dan's rock shop in evanston- stay tuned!
