Who among us does not love
a flower: a dusky scent or wild hue, curl of petal.
Or if not, consider honey, a sweet
golden flavor on your buttered toast
juxtaposed with a smoky roasted
freshly ground cup of joe.
Monet's waterlilies float on your wall.
Or gasoline for the car.
What it took to get it from exactly where?
Don't forget to take penicillin
for that nasty itch.
Or think on this. The air you breathe.
Enough? Is the system responsible
for those ethereal molecules running well?
Hold your breath.
We had better figure this one out.
